A letter I wrote to Kelly Egan and the Citizen.

Dear Mr. Egan:

You state that police resources would be better spent on homicides than on catching people speeding in their cars.

There were 606 homicides in the entire country in 2006 according to Statistics Canada.

On the other hand, Transport Canada reports that there were 2889 fatalities, 15281 serious injuries and 199,337 total injuries due to motor vehicle collisions in 2006.

Now, where do you think we should spend more resources again?
