gas prices boo hoo
As we endure yet another summer of whining from the Americans (and Canadians) about The Unbearable Cost of Gas, it's worth pointing out, yet again, that the US has the cheapest gas in the industrialized world, often by a factor of 2 or more, and Canada is not far behind. 2007 gas prices from http://europe.theoildrum.com/node/2653 I love the endless TV news about the Cost of Oil and how it is Hitting the Average Consumer, and they always do this Man in the Street where he or she says "it's costing me more! boo hoo!" I want to see them interview someone who says "the price of gas is ridiculously low, and a reasonable price, with a combination of carbon taxes and infrastructure taxes, would be about $20/gallon".
