in the end

I thought my cat was a happy, fat old cat with a bad tooth that could be fixed in the summer, and that if anything went seriously wrong with her it would be obvious (to me).

It turned out she was a hopefully-happy, losing-weight old cat with at least one bad tooth and cancer spreading through her insides.

In the end, I console myself that I simply had no idea that she was seriously ill, and that to whatever (hopefully extremely minimal) extent she was suffering, that suffering is ended now and her spirit is free. posted by Richard at 05:07 / permalink (post) | permalink (numeric)
