    Installed XP SP2 on laptop.

    Make sure to check your hardware vendor's site first for any needed patches.
    You may also want to check the support sites for any software that is key to you.

    For my PCG-K13 there were two updates recommended to be installed before SP2.

    I installed from the CD I got from MS.
    It took 40 minutes.

    Seems fine. Popup blocking on by default in my IE.
