back up now
The conference I was at was mostly US university people so it was mostly Mac laptops, a percentage of which were reported to have various hardware failures, so here's a timely reminder: back up now. Back up before Leopard. Time Machine or whatever after Leopard. Your hard drive has a 100% chance of failing. Other components may fail as well. As a sidebar, I am growing weary of conference wireless. It's up, it's down. It's up, but there's no DHCP. There's DHCP, but it's from the wrong server. It's up but too weak to be usable. It's up but it uses WAP and won't let my Mac login. There has got to be a better way. Labels: computers suck, rant, wireless HOME - |
