Aieee, it's getting really good...
and then I have to wait until next week.

This watching TV shows week-by-week sucks.
Better to wait a year and do it all in one go.

Damn your evil genius, Ron Moore.

If next week isn't awesome I will be most disappointed.

At what point do we stop saying "historic" and "record" and "100 year storm" and start saying, oh dear, this is happening every year?

The Star - AP - October 13, 2006 - Buffalo snowstorm kills three

Record snowfall leaves 350,000 homes and businesses without power

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A rare early October snowstorm that buried parts of the Great Lakes region under as much as 60 centimetres of snow was blamed Friday for at least three deaths in New York state, widespread blackouts and stranded travelers.

A state of emergency was in effect in four counties Friday as cleanup from the destructive storm began. Up to two feet of heavy wet snow painted a surreal scene. Snow-laden tree branches and power lines lay draped across cars and houses and normally busy downtown streets were still.

The Star - October 14, 2006 - Thousands remain without power (in Ontario)

Record snowfall hits Fort Erie area
Cleanup may take up to four days

Thousands of homes were left without power yesterday after a record-setting snowstorm hit southern Ontario.

Winds of up to 90 km/h combined with as much as 30 centimetres of thick wet snow in Fort Erie, knocked over trees and power lines, leaving almost 15,000 homes without electricity.

Thousands more had no power in nearby Port Colborne, where a state of emergency was declared due to the outages, poor driving conditions and downed hydro lines.
