aieeeee
too intense

Sometime a long time ago I read or wrote about ER, along the lines of "great show, but do I really need that intensity every week?"

You want to know my predicted irony?
By saving various Cylons, the VP, mad as a hatter as he is, will end up saving humanity.

I had completely missed the fact that the VP would become Prez once the current one died.

Labels:

stuff I can't get in iTunes Music Store Canada

  • "Glass Vase Cello Case" by Tattle Tale

  • "The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World

  • The Life Aquatic soundtrack (I bought it from Amazon)

  • any TV shows whatsoever

list to be maintained and updated as necessary

UPDATE 2006-11-13: "Mad World" by Gary Jules (as heard on the Donnie Darko soundtrack and the current Gears of War ad). Michael Andrews is also somehow involved (composer for this version?).

best election quotes

Winner: Jack Layton

"Who is really going to stand up for working Canadians? The smoking hulk of a defeated Liberal Party?"

Runner-up: Paul Martin

"With each day that passes, it's getting harder and harder for Stephen Harper to keep his socially conservative, far-right candidates out of the public eye," he said in St. John's, "They're still there. They're just in hiding."

Martin identified several of the candidates by name, including Harold Albrecht, Cheryl Gallant, Rob Merrifield, David Sweet and Rob Anders.

"I don't know where they are," said Martin. "Maybe they're all in some kind of a safe house, minding their time, watching Jeopardy."

I was interviewed by PC World Canada for a piece on electronic voting.

You can read more in my blog Paper Vote Canada.

Conservatives win election by acclamation

Good heavens, we don't have to wait for the election do we?
Let's just put them in power immediately through the power of polls and media hype, without all that tedious voting bother.

The Globe reports "55% would welcome a Harper majority".

Yea, I for one welcome our new theofascist overlords.

Seu Jorge from the Life Aquatic

I really enjoy Seu Jorge's The Life Aquatic - Studio Sessions (iTunes Canada). Very tuneful and pleasant, relaxing. I am not a Bowie expert so you may have a different experience if you are.

The Life Aquatic soundtrack is not available on Canadian iTunes, you can get it from e.g. Amazon.ca - if you're looking for Seu I would get the studio sessions instead - the soundtrack only has a few of his tracks, and overall the soundtrack was a bit disappointing I found.

You can also get Seu's Sessions on CD from Amazon.ca, if you prefer that.

The Producers (1968)

Watched The Producers (1968 original version). It's funny.
