So let's see, you take the Classic interface, replace it with mutant inconsistent OS X, and then inside of OS X you invent ANOTHER, also completely different user interface?

The running with machine guns blazing and no one getting hit was quite lame though.

DVD burner

My iBook has no DVD read/write so I bought an external Sony DRX-800UL DVD/CD burner (USB and FireWire).
I used it to install MacOS X 10.4 which kept crashing every few minutes until I disabled Spotlight.

first modify /etc/hostconfig to read:

SPOTLIGHT=-NO-

Then to get rid of the existing index, run these two commands from Terminal:


mdutil -i off /
mdutil -E /

Be Cool be terrible in fact.
I am still debating whether Be Cool or Ocean's 12 is worse.
It is quite a contest of filmic suckingness.
