Battlestar Galactica series - 1

Watched BG (should that be BG:TNG?)
It was good.

I don't think people would still be functioning much after 130 hours with no/minimal sleep though. You can go maybe 48 AFAIK.

Canadian copyright notice - FAQ

Do I need to mark my work with a notice of copyright?

This isn't necessary to be protected in Canada, however, you must mark your work with the symbol "©", the name of the copyright owner and the year of first publication to be protected in some other countries. Even though it is not always required, marking is useful because it serves as a general reminder to everyone that the work is protected by copyright.

MS Anti-Malware

MS is taking an interesting approach with their anti-malware tool.

Effectively, they have started doing a virus scan of every XP machine when Windows Update runs.

Note The version of this tool delivered by Windows Update runs in the background and then deletes itself. If you would like to run this tool more than once a month, use the version on this Web page or install the version that is available in the Download Center.

As indicated above, you can also run it as a (yuck) ActiveX or download it as a standalone tool.

expecting someone taller

I went to buy snowpants.
Apparently all men are now 7 or 8 feet tall.
They were all like a foot or more longer than my legs.

a vlong engagement

Went to "A Very Long Engagement".
It was good.

Jodie Foster was in it.
She did her university degree in French (the movie is in French).

I am full of such tidbits of information.

new: used bookstore

When I asked my friends what was going to happen to the old Olé on Bank and Frank I thought they said "Oyster Bar".

"Oyster Bar??" I thought.

It's possible they were saying "bookstore" because that's what it actually is.
A "used and rare" bookstore possibly called Book Bazaar.

Fairly standard used bookstore, no SF or fantasy that I could find though.

blog not or hot

There are lots of ways to see who is linking to you, or how highly linked you are.

Google
Alexa
Feedster
Bloglines
Technorati

Anyway, another one is PubSub LinkRank.
Here's a graph for blog.akerman.ca

It takes a while to draw the graph (maybe 30s or so).
You can also get just a basic LinkRank number, here it is again for blog.akerman.ca

Any other services that do similar things?

spider on the wall

Watched first movie on new projector system: Spider-Man 2.
I am pleased with the setup. I am not convinced that a screen would be worth it.
It would have to be a big screen which means probably you have to mount it on ceiling and pull it down or you get one of those standing ones that you set up.

Some weekend soon, I will watch my Return of the King extended on it.
That should be fun.
